The medieval Quentin Matsys Well in front of the Cathedral of Our Lady In Antwerp, Belgium


This well was originally located outside the town hall and was moved to its current location at the Schoenmarkt around 1550. Wrought ironwork of intertwined branches, crowned by Brabo dressed as a Roman warrior. On the cylindrical blue stone base (ca. 1940) the following inscription : this ironwork was forged by Quentin Matsys - love made a painter of this iron
