He was succeeded by his son. Sir John Fowler Leece Brunner, for the Northwich Division, County Councillor, 1882-95, and member ofthe Central Tribunal for Great Britain, 1917. Brother Broadsmith, who had discharged the duties of Provincial GrandSecretary for some time prior to the death of Brother Richard Newhouse, died inJuly 1918. Brother Broadsmith had had a distinguished career in the Province,to which due testimony was forthcoming at the annual meeting of ProvincialGrand Lodge at Northwich in 1918, as recorded in preceding pages.
