CAMP PENDLETON, California (May 11, 2017) Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit disembark a Landing Craft Utility (LCU) aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 11. The LCU is an amphibious craft used to transport troops and equipment from ship to shore. During Western Pacific Deployment 16-2, the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group/11th Marine Expeditionary Unit supported multiple operations and conducted various training exercises with foreign militaries.
