170406-N-LD343-0002 PACIFIC OCEAN (April 6, 2017) The amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) test-fires a rolling airframe missile launcher to intercept a remote-controlled drone during an exercise to test the ship’s defense capability. America is underway with more than 1,000 Sailors and 1,600 embarked Marines conducting amphibious squadron and Marine expeditionary unit integration operations in preparation for the a deployment later this year.
