The coat of arms of Trinity House, the body in the UK charged with shipping safety. It's on the tower of Portland lighthouse in Dorset. Lighthouses in the UK are run by the organisation Trinity House which gets its money from a tax on shipping called "Light Dues". The rate is based on the registered tonnage of the ship. The Portland Bill lighthouse was built in 1906, and stands 35m high. As well as acting as a daymark, it also protects shipping from "The Shambles", a dangerous sandbank offshore.
