Base relief of Battle of Kuruksheta (from the Hindu epic Mahabharata), western gallery, Angkor Wat temple, near Siem Reap, Cambodia, Asia. Dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, Angkor Wat was commenced in first half of 12th century in reign of King Suryavarman II. By the end of the 12th century the temple had transformed from a Hindu temple to a Buddhist one.
