Fine sweet ])eas are being re- ceived from several growers, and are useful in make up work, l)eing easy to ;irraiige. The store windows are gay witli African marigolds and ziiini.'is a good deal of the time. The flowers, with tlieir fine keejiing (pialities and cohir are hard to beat for window decorations in hot weather. If there was any corsage work, there were ideiity of orchids, lily of the valley and Cecile lirunner roses to be had for the ])urpose. Koses are not of much imjiortani-e at jireseiit, all the stock coming from vnuiig or recently cut back plants and, tlierefore, short- stemmed. Carnations from old jilants nrr still to be had and are Just about suflicient for the demand. A noxelty seen last week was some native water lilies in shades of orange and aprieot. They cannot ln' said to be a useful cut flower, buf give variety and ;iie at least interesting. Various Notes.
