Notre Dame—Vue du Midi
The view taken in 1828, shows the Cathedral of Notre Dame founded by Robert the Devout son of Hugh Capet. It was erected on the site of a Temple of Jupiter, Castor and Pollux in the reign of Tiberius. In the southern tower is the famous bell Le Bourdon baptized in the presence of Louis XIV. It is the oldest Christian religious structure in France. The image was drawn by J Nash and engraved by J Havill.
