The Coast Guard cutters Bollard, Hawser, and Pendant, 65-foot Small Harbor Tugs, break ice on the ice-covered Connecticut River reaching the East Haddam Bridge in East Haddam, Connecticut, Jan. 23, 2018. The team of small Harbor Tugs are being used on the Connecticut River to break apart ice jams causing floods along the Connecticut River in support of Operation - Reliable Energy for Northeast Winters (RENEW).
