Con-sequently the end which eachparticular slide is to serve hasto be kept in view from themoment of selection of asubject to the final bindingand naming ready for ex-hibition, each one beingtreated as for a set purpose throughout. Of all matters in this connection, that of selection isone of the most difficult. It can only be done satisfactorilyby the lecturer himself, knowing his needs and the voids inhis existing collection. Take thenave of the Collegiale, at Huy, for instance, as seen fromthe west end organ gallery. The exceptional points whichled to the photograph being taken at all were the elaboratelierne vaulting at the crossing of nave and transepts andthe extraordinary length of the central mullion of the eastwindow. In order to emphasise this latter point, it wasnecessary to aim at a tall narrow picture, and to include aconsiderable amount of the floor, so that an extremelywide-angled
