This Radish is comparatively new, and its good merits are not yet fully known to the trade; those who have tested it thoroughly praise it very highly for an all summer Radish. Several years growing of the Dom Pedro has proved it to be suj)eri- or in size and quality of all long sum- mer radishes known to us. The shape is similar to that of the Chartier, only a few days later, but perfectly distinct in color and quality. Color at the top is a dark purple shading downward to a pure white at the tip. They are ^ of quick growth, solid, very tender, crisp and of mild flavor, also remains good a long time for table use; not becom- ing hard and stringy as most Radishes do. We have grown Philips' Dorn Pedro Radish from 3 to 4 inches in di- ameter, perfectly solid through and fit for the table. Pkt. 5c., oz. lOc, ft. 80c. Round Black Spanish. (Winter) A variety very popular with the Germans, globe-shape and of good quality and flavor. If properly stored, can be used the entire winter. A fine variety for slicing and eating with vinegar. Pkt. 5c., oz. lOc, 20c., R). 65c. Improved Chartier. Decidedly distinct m?appear- ance from any other Radish in cultivation. Its form is well defined by the engraving, the color at top being crimson, running into pink about the middle, and from thence downward it is pure, waxy white. It is very tender, and will attain a large size before it be- comes unfit for the table. Pkt. 5c., oz. lOc, lb. 75c. White Strawshurg. The roots are of handsome, ob- long, tapering shape; both skin and flesh are pure white; the flesh is firm, brittle and tender, and pos- sessing the most desirable character of retaining its crispness, even when the roots are old and large. It is excellent for summer use, as it withstands severe heat and grows very quickly. Pkt. 5c, oz.
