The pancake tortoise ( Malacochersus tornieri ) is a species of flat-shelled tortoise and this is a mum and baby at Bristol zoo. They are very rare in the wild. The baby was called Flat Stanley by the zoo staff. 14 August 1990 Picture by Roger Bamber
