A monotypic genus containing a South African shrub. John Saul, of Washington, D. C, spoke of it as having racemes of double white fls., borne on the point of every shoot, and suggesting the Cape Jessamine by their form and fra- grance. He probably had some other plant in mind, for. according to DeCandollo, Gonioma has yellowish fls.
