Façade of Malik Mughith’s Mosque in Mandu. Madhya Pradesh. India

This mosque was built by Mahmud Khilji's father Malik Mughith in 1452. It belongs to the first phase of Muslim architecture in Malwa when material from earlier Hindu buildings was utilized for construction. The projecting porch, the arched corridors and small-turrets at corners provide an impressive frontage to the building.
