Rhynchophora, whose snouts, as a rule, are very long. The antennseafe placed on each side (of snout), "elbowed" or angulated in the middle and clubbed at the extremity. The female turnip gall weevil punctures the " roots," and deposits an egg in the wound. Within this domicile the yellowish-coloured larva or maggot lives, feeds, and attaias its maturity. This beetle (Fig 28 0) is niost injurious to F.
