The River Leven is the discharge from Windermere and flows the short distance from there into Morecambe Bay and the Irish Sea beyond. This was taken from near Greenodd where the river enters the bay as the outward tide lifted the silt from the river bed. The River Crake cuts in under the A590 on the left side of the frame.
