GULFPORT, MISSISSIPPI-- The members of the New York Stability Transition Team, a unit of senior officersand NCOs trained to advise and help train the Afghan National Army and Police pose for a group photo before they leave for Afghanistan. Major General Steven Wickstrom, the commander of the as42nd Infantry Division and key leaders of the New York Army National Guard traveled here to speak with the 48-members of the STT before they departed for nine months of duty in Afghanistan. The team's mission is to assist and train elements of the Afghan National Army and Police.
