Queues of people outside a polling station in Vienna on April 10 1938. The referendum was on the subject of should Austria become a part of Germany? The vote was after the Anschluss and voted yes. The vote was of course tilted in the Nazi's favour by the fact that opposition parties were not alowed to vote and people had to mark their ballot paper in frnt of an election official.
