Cava Buia or "Dark Cave", suggestive "etruscan cut". Norchia, central Italy.

The so-called "Cava Buia" or "Dark Cave" in the archaeological site of Norchia, Viterbo, central Italy. It's a suggestive "tagliata etrusca" (etruscan cut), a narrow track carved in tuff stone. Started in Etruscan time and modified many times, is considered by some scholars to a section of the Via Clodia, the ancient Roman road that connected Rome with southern Etruria.
