Head and neck anatomy. Computer artwork of a human head and neck with the overlying tissues removed to show the brain (grey) within a sectioned skull that includes the teeth (white) of the jaws, and nerves (yellow), including the olfactory and optic nerves and the cervical (neck) section of the spinal cord (enclosed in vertebrae). The main brain structures are the folded surface of the cerebrum, and at the base of the brain the rounded structure of the cerebellum next to the brainstem. Within the sectioned skull are the nasal cavity and the paranasal sinus of the forehead (frontal sinus). Some jaw and ear bones are in semi-transparent outline.
