VCD collectors tin case for the film "Pirates of the Caribbean"

VCDs, or Video CDs, as a format, was popular in the 80s and 90s mainly in Asia. It featured VHS quality picture and sound, often for Karaoke discs but did not suffer form VHS issues in hot climates. Less able but more popular than Laserdisc.
