An interlocking arrangement has been provided thatmakes it iinpossible to operate the series-parallel switch exceptwhen the circuit on the main motor is opened. There are eleven notches on the master controller with themotors in full series; nine notches with the motors in series-parallel, and nine with the motors in full parallel. On 1,200or 1,500 volts the motors are operated only in full series and equipped with train line receptacles and jumpers and any num-ber of units can be controlled by one operator. A relay has been provided which will open all the circuitsof the motors whenever the trolley passes a specially ar-ranged aerial brush contactor. This insures an open circuitthrough the motors when the trolley passes a section is necessary to bring the master controller to the offposition be
