The buildersformerly endeavored in a number of cases to improve theappearance of the posts by finishing the sides with the samematerial as the rest of the interior woodwork, but because ofthe parting strips were unable to do so satisfactorily. They aretherefore much pleased with the new arrangement, whichmakes it possible to hide the ash posts completely with veneerinstead of stain.
