It is hard, moderately heavy, exceed- ingly fine grained, and takes a beautiful polish. Used for interior finish, con- struction timber, and also for furniture, for which it is highly esteemed. Used for manufacturing wheels and cylinders for sugar ma- chines, and for cabinet work. Tamboril, known as Corotu in Pan- ama, Enterolohium timbouva var. Ca- nescens Engl. (Order Leguminosce.) Tree, among the most gigantic, attain- ing a height of ninety to 130 feet, and a diameter of nearly ten feet. Wood, light brown, rather soft, and quite porous, not strong, but durable, and re- motely resembling mahogany. Used for building, interior decoration, furni- ture, and boat building.
