INOPERABLE CARCINOMA 315 Treatment of Inoperable Carcinoma.—The technique in the treat-ment of primary growths, unsuitable for operation, being similar, the descrip-tion under (a) applies to both groups. A classification is necessary in orderto describe fully the methods employed. (a) Large inoperable cancer of the breast without ulceration is fairlycommon. An attempt should be made to reduce the tumour by treatmentto an operable condition. When the breast is very large a system of treat-ment may be used which will give the dosage
