Founded in 2003, New York’s Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet has forged a strong reputation over the past decade for the exceptional caliber of its dancers and for commissioning new work from the worlds most sought after choreographers. Following its critically acclaimed UK debut at Sadler’s Wells in 2012, the company has returned to the UK for its first national British tour, which will visit five venues across the country from 27 September – 19, October, presented by Dance Consortium. The company is presenting a characteristically innovative triple bill of works by three of the worlds most sought after dance makers. Indigo Rose, created by renowned choreographer JiÅí Kylián opens the programme with a virtuosic showcase for the company’s talented corps. This is followed by Ten Duets on a Theme of Rescue, by Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite, who displays her distinctively emotive and compelling aesthetic. The bill is completed by Norwegian choreographer Jo Strømgren's spirited ensemble piece, Necessity, Again, set to a selection of songs by Charles Aznavour.
