The Drawing Operations The three presses are shown in Fig. 1, where speci-mens of the work in the various stages of process are alsoshown, The shi which are of No, 11 soft steel, 00 in. wide and 78 in, long, are first taken to a small rotary shearand trimmed to a slightly elliptical form. The first form, after being annealed, is then putthrough a process of inverted redrawing which produithe final irregular shape of the finished tub and its roll-shaped rim. The machine shown in Pig 2 illustrates theform of dies used in this operation. This illustrationshows the dies as they appear upon the completion of thefinal drawing, a finished tub, just taken from the press,being shown in the hands of the operators on the right ofthe picture.
