The Quebec private daycare association denounces the interference of the Quebec Government in the internal affairs of private children daycares, saying the governement wants to impose a mandatory centralized list and a dress code (banning religious signs) through the Charter of values. According to the association 150 of the 8,000 educators in Quebec's network would be directly affected by the ban on religious symbols in times of a shortage of daycare workers.
