Polo Match Rutland Polo Club Ponies Players [Polo Sticks]

Polo is played on a ground 300yds long by 160yds wide. A match lasts for six periods called "Chukkas" each lasting 7minutes. A team consists of 4 players each individually handicapped between -2 and 10. Polo sticks are made with bamboo shafts and hardwood heads. The ball is hit with the side of the head not the end as in croquet. Balls are made of plastic. Players must wear a protective helmet and pones wear bandages or boots for support and protection.
