The red- dish pile in this area does not take a con- tinuous course antero-posteriorly, but is ar- ranged in diagonal patches on each segment, which follow a course across the segment, beginning at a higher point and extending posteriorly to a lower one, thus giving a diagonally striped segmental appearance. Latero-inferior to this is an area in which the pile is of the lighter grayish-white color. Spiracles, elongate, yellowish-gray. Ab- domen, greenish grav.
