A pro-democracy demonstration raising awareness on the deteriorating state of human rights in Hong Kong. Organizers estimated that around 800,000 people participated in the march. Pro-democracy protests broke out and escalated into urban conflicts when the Hong Kong government, under the rule of China, refused to withdraw a controversial extradition bill and condoned police brutality against initially peaceful protestors.
