Exposed archaeological excavations of Roman remains in the Alcazar in Cordoba, Andalusia, Andalucia, southern Spain


The Alcazar de los Reyes Christianos in Cordoba is a palace fortress which was buit in 1328 by King Alfonso XI. Fernando II and Isabel stayed here during their campaign against the Moors of Granada. Later it was used by the Inquisition and then as a prison. The gardens with ponds and fountains were restored in the 1950s .
