CaptainsWilliam andHarry Ford, andtheir brotherJackson, were half-brothers of Will-iam and JamesWeddington. Af-ter the death father, shemarried a Ford,by whom she hadthe three brightsons named. Will-iam and Harry were both captains in the 39thKentucky, Union army. Captain William Ford died while in service atLexington, Ky. After serving faithfully for twoyears, Harry was compelled to resign on accountof poor health, returned to Pike, and became alarge trader and merchant. He died in 1880,. ROBERT M. A daughter of Captain Ford marriedJ. Crittenden Cecil. After his death she becamethe wife of Mr. Phergo, a journalist. The Weddington-Ford family is one of thestrong houses of the valley; but want of space for-bids much that is historic. DR. S. M. FERGUSON, A SON-IN-LAW of Judge Wm. Weddington, andbrother-in-law of R. M. Weddington, is one of theprominent physicians in the Sandy Valley. He isa man of wealth, and great energy. He was lieu-tenant-colonel in the 39th Kentucky Infantry,United States army. He came from Virginiato Sandy in about 1843. He is a strong Repub-lican in politics.
