The castle of Pailly is of Ionic and Corinthian style. the castle of Pailly was built between 1563 and 1573, on the site of an old castle, for the "very noble and very illustrious" Gaspard de Saulx-Tavannes, marshal of France, companion of King Francis I. It was built by the French architect Nicolas Ribonnier.
