Beauty perception. Computer image of distorted male and female Japanese (lower) and Caucasian (upper) faces. The masculinity of each face incre- ases from left to right. At far left is an average woman's face feminised by 50%. To the right of that, a woman's face is masculinised by 50%. Then an average man's face is feminised by 50%, with the 50% masculinised male face at far right. The images are distorted from \average\" faces; compos- itions of the faces of several volunteers. Both genders and races tested found the feminised faces more attractive in both sexes, stating masculine features looked more dishonest and violent."
