BioWall engineers at work. The BioWall is an interactive bioelectronics display designed to demonstrate bio-inspired electronic software capable of evolving, self-repairing, learning and self-replicating. It consists of a mosaic of several thousand transparent electronic modules that respond to humans touching them. The display is at left, with the hardware behind it. The wall is metres long. The BioWall was developed in 2000 at the Logic Systems Laboratory (LSL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. At left is Christof Teuscher, leader of the project to develop the prototype. At right is Andre Badertscher, engineer with LSL.
