When baptized,I was four or five years old,—why not in infancy, Iknow not, unless possibly she had been waiting for myfather to unite with the church, which he did not dountil a still later period. I have a distinct recollectionof the occasion referred to, and of standing at my mothersside near the pulpit, as Dr. Herron sprinkled water on myhead. I remember, too, that I muttered some words ofdispleasure because a few drops had fallen on my widelinen collar. No doubt all this became fixed
