In appearance it is more like Cos Lettuce than real Cabbage, but to the palate a delicious Cabbage. It may be served as a salad with dressing or boiled, minced and seasoned with butter or cream sauce. It is very easily grown and does well in nearly all parts of the country. A little can be sown early and used when ready, but early sown is apt to run to seed. The main crop is sown about turnip sowing time, last of July. The seed is sown in drills 16 to 20 inches apart and the seedlings thinned out to stand about 12 inches apart. For winter use it is taken up before hard frost and cared for th< same as cabbage in winter, stored in trenches and covered with straw and dirt to keep out the frost It is worthy of a trial by everyone.
