Blanche, daughter of Louis IX, 1240-1243. She wears her hair tied up with a gold band and veil, a full heavy tunic in the royal coat of arms (gold fleurs de lys on a blue field), over a pink robe. From a figure of her as a 20-year-old (although she died aged 3) engraved on copper on her tomb in Royaumont Abbey. Handcoloured copperplate drawn and engraved by Leopold Massard from French Costumes from King Clovis to Our Days, Massard, Mifliez, Paris, 1834.
