Our colled ion was improved by valuable additions till we secured n fail- iot of plums for Southern Texas. American pmoology has biM'ome enriched also by introductions from the Orient. And while few of the varieties have proven free from some serious obje<'tion. yet oriental hybrids that have are likely to prove to be an important enlargement to our list of i-eliable.
