The Old Main, completed in 1856 is the original Elgin Academy building. The Greek revival structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a landmark within an Elgin Historic District. At present, it is home to the Elgin History Museum. The building continues to be a dominant feature on the Elgin Academy campus. Elgin Academy is a coeducational, college preparatory institution.
