By the sea

Between Gangneung and Donghae the Yeongdong Line runs a few kilometres along the coast of the Japanese Sea. Due to some incidents with landing attempts on the part of North Korea, however, large parts of the east coast of South Korea are behind barbed wire and guarded. Only some beach sections are accessible. On the picture you can see the Mugunghwa 1640 Gangneung - Cheongnyangni, which travels to the capital Seoul in the afternoon and is covered by the Hyundai Rotem licensed construction class 8200 of an electric locomotive from Siemens that is at least optically known in Germany. Here in the near of Aninjin.
