Todd Lavender, 558th Aircraft Maintenance Support Squadron process engineer and corrosion control process manager, explains the process used to de-paint C-17 aircraft engine shrouds at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, Feb. 1, 2021. The de-paint process is the application of a chemical mixture of benzyl-alcohol and hydrogen-peroxide that is sprayed onto aircraft surface to remove layers of paint.
