It consists of casting a " single " fly, per- fectly dry, upon the surface of the water, and floating it passively down stream over a rising fish, instead of submerged, and guided hither and yon across the current. The flies are made specially with cocked wings, and are exceedingly small, yet more like nature than the average wet fly. They are marvels of neatness and sombreness, and so natural are they thrown, that they deceive any fish, particularly large ones. The angler is supposed to cast only when the fish are 191 Method.
