They are hardy and endure the cold weather successfully if kept dry. They are of medium size, plump and exceedingly neat when dressed. We are breeding from the very best strains obtainable. The White-faced Black Spanish have long been celebrated for exceptional laying qualities. The oldest of the non-sitting varieties, they still maintain a record which, in consider- ing the size of eggs, is unsurpassed. For crossing on other breeds the Spanish is justly popular. The plumage is a rich glossy black, and with the pure white face and ear lobes, red comb and wattles form a strik- ing contrast. They are very high in body, with fine styl- ish carriage, and their legs are of a leaden color becoming lighter with age.
