Blücher at the Battle of Ligny, 16 June 1815, (1936). 'Blücher In Der Schlacht Bei Ligny, 16 Juni 1815'. Prussian field marshal Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher (1742-1819) was trapped for several hours beneath his horse after it was shot and killed. The Battle of Ligny, near Ligny (in Belgium), between the French and the Prussians, was fought two days before Waterloo. Ligny was the last victory of Napoleon Bonaparte.
