Gladioli ! are plentiful, with the ruling price in the neighborhood of $5. All but the red seem to be moving on a par with the other flowers. Club Meeting. More than 100 florists and their friends attended the smoker given in connection with the June meeting of the Florists' Club o^ Washington. The business of the evening was rushed through, so that as much time might be given to the entertainment as possible. Arthur C. Garden, of Minnesota ave- nue, Anacostia, D. C, was elected to membership. The transportation com- mittee, through Vice-president Jenkins, made a report on the trip to Boston in August. Mr. Jenkins stated that a number of applications for reservations had already been received. The trip to Boston is to be made on a chartered boat of the Merchants' & Miners' Transportation Co. The evening's entertainment was given in the "grotto," which was spe- cially decorated for the occasion. This meeting gave the florists an opportunity of finding out what good singers they were, for all joined in singing patriotic and popular airs to the accompaniment of an orchestra. The usual speeches of welcome were made and then Charley Stevens and his group of entertainers proceeded to hand out toasts and roasts, songs and recitations. Th
