Another class of wounds was caused bystrips of the casing. These were deep, lacerated wounds, leaving uglyscars and causing much disfigurement when the face was wounds were at first of a deep yellow color, the wounded sufferedgreat pain, which persisted long after the wound had commenced toheal.
