Swimmers on shore waiting to start Vansbro Swim or Vansbrosimningen in July in the Vanan and Vasterdals Rivers in Sweden
The emphasis in Swedish sport is not on the competition between schools, but is more between clubs, organizations, and on a personal level. One of the major events is the Vansbro Swim in July at Vansbro in Dalarna, Sweden. This a swim of 3 kilometers in two different rivers. About 1,900 participants start, including 250 competitors.
