Mediocrity clamors for adead sameness of all windows of a building, or of all ornamentalfeatures, or of all pillars, and would balance one tower on oneside of a building with another absolutely similar to it on theother side, just as mediocrity in the world of fashion aims at aslavish imitation of some style which is supposed to be a lamode, however foolish, unbeautiful, destructive of health, or lack-ing in adaptation it may be.
